“Live music is dead!” they say… “Alcohol has killed the live music scene!” they say… “You can’t maintain live music in a culture that doesn’t value it!” they say… Well, it appears they should’ve kept their mouths well and truly buttoned, because UBERfest is proving to come back this winter bigger and better than ever before!
After announcing earlier this year that they were setting their sights further afield with not just ONE festival, but FOUR across the nation, organisers of this hugely successful and evolving music event, are already boasting a massive line up. Independent artists/bands looking to take the Festival stage, should contact these guys pronto in an effort to land themselves a spot on the bill. UBERfest’s booking manager said “Sydney’s nearly booked out, but there are a few slots available, and for bands from South Australia (or those who want to tour there) we have some extra spaces.” The contact details are: burgess_ventures@bigpond.com or (02) 9519 3978.
Musicians from across the country are coming together to perform at UBERfest Winter 2014, ready to showcase their original material. Boasting a line up of over 30 bands in a 10 hour marathon, each festival event guarantees an exciting display of the best up-and-coming talent for music fans to enjoy.
UBERfest Winter will be at four fantastic city venues on the following dates:
Sat 26 July @ The Light Hotel, Adelaide
Sun 10 August @ The Elephant & Wheelbarrow (St. Kilda), Melbourne
Sat 16 August @ The Lewisham Hotel, Sydney
Sat 30 August @ The Jubilee Hotel, Brisbane
With these venues providing an intimate setting, typical of UBERfest, they’re bringing the music to the fans – up close and personal. This festival gives the crowd the best new sounds and an awesome live experience in their face!
UBERfest will be revealing its full line-up in early July, and having previously hosted an array of interstate bands, this winter’s events will be no different. The bill promises to include everything from hip hop to metal, pop, indie, rock and DJs… This is going to be one hell of a party for music lovers of all styles!
Denny Burgess(of 60’s band Masters Apprentices), will be MC on the main stage for the Winter shows, and praises the festival for supporting unsigned musicians in Australia “UBERfest is providing a rare and exciting opportunity for fresh bands to showcase their original music. It’s not every day you can go to an event and see over 30 acts perform across a whole range of genres like this. Everyone’s full of energy and really giving it a go, and proving to the country that live music is very much alive!” So much for the doomsayers!
